Dr. Andrea Straka

Dr. StrakaStaff veterinarian at Irondequoit Animal Hospital since 1997, Dr. Andrea Straka received her BS Degree in Animal Science from the University of Delaware in 1993 and her VMD Degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1997.

As a student, Dr. Straka excelled academically. As an undergraduate, she was a Dean's List student. At the University of Pennsylvania, she was a member of Phi Zeta, the national veterinary honor society, and graduated Cum Laude.

Dr. Straka is a general small animal practitioner with professional interests in behavior. A puppy kindergarten and basic manners instructor, she advocates "clicker training" with Canine Connections in Rochester, NY (585) 738-6075.

Traveling, fishing, skiing and reading are some of Dr. Straka's non-professional interests. Along with her other interests, Dr. Straka particularly enjoys spending free time with her 2 dogs (Booger, a Pug and Winston, a chocolate Lab.) and 2 cats (Nikki and Norton). She is an active member of the Rochester Pug Club.
